National auction reports bear out a similar trend, with two markets breaking into $3,000 territory for Holstein springers in the past month. Similarly, USDA data indicates Holstein heifer calf values up more than 150%, from $180/head last year to $465/head today. Beef-cross calves continue to fetch astounding values of more than $1,000/head in some markets.
