Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium Releases Video

( WLIC )

The Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium (WLIC) has been working diligently on the creation of a new educational video highlighting the importance of animal disease traceability and the use of premises registration and individual animal identification – including the use of radio frequency identification (RFID) tags – to protect the food supply. This video explains how farm to fork traceability starts by tagging animals at the farm of origin through the end of life, and how using this technology provides fast and easy traceback in case of an animal disease outbreak.

Due to the Corona Virus pandemic, the need for this technology is more prevalent than ever. When an animal disease threat develops it is crucial that it is traced back and contained as soon as possible to allow animal movement to continue, and the food supply is in no way jeopardized.
