The United States Animal Health Association (USAHA) launched a new web presence in March, in an effort to modernize and improve communication for the organization. The new look includes a new logo for the organization, which celebrates its 121st year this fall.
“Our web site serves as a vital resource for animal health and our membership, including historical reference materials to current events,” says Ben Richey, USAHA Executive Director. “The new design provides a modernized feel, with adaptability to different devices, and streamlined navigation.”
The site’s look is centered on a new logo that was developed over the last year and approved at the 2016 Annual Meeting in October. Richey adds the logo provides a clean look that is adaptable to a variety of applications, which he hopes will translate to more use and visibility for the organization.
USAHA President, Dr. Boyd Parr, notes the significance of the updates. “As we implement our strategic plan the image of the organization is important. The new website and logo align with USAHA’s need to evolve with our current environment.”
USAHA’s committee work drives of what the association does throughout the year. The past year has proven no different, and the organization is looking to maximize its infrastructure for 2017 and beyond through a perpetual evaluation process. This initiative will yield an important evolution for the organization in addressing the many issues in animal health now and in the future.
Parr says that the organization continues a comprehensive effort to strengthen the work of USAHA, both internally and externally. “It is important for USAHA to continue to evaluate our role in animal health and the positive impact we can make with our members and stakeholders. Ultimately, our goal is to remain true to our roots and our core purpose in a manner that is and continues to be effective.”
USAHA held several regional meetings this spring and summer. The meetings provide a great opportunity on disease updates in the industry, as well as networking with state and federal regulatory officials. The schedule for future regional meetings will be posted at www.usaha.org/district-meetings
Coming up, USAHA and the National Institute for Animal Agriculture (NIAA) will co-host a National Strategy Forum on Animal Disease Traceability. The forum will take place on September 26 ad 27 in Denver. More information is available on the USAHA website or at www.animalagriculture.org.
USAHA, in partnership with the National Institute for Animal Agriculture, has seen continued use of its web portal for interstate movement, www.interstatelivestock.com. The site now boasts multiple species movement information for all 50 states.
USAHA is based in St. Joseph, Mo., and represents more than 1,100 members, including all 50 states, 38 allied industry organizations, 11 federal agencies, four international agencies and two sovereign territories. USAHA’s mission is to develop and promote sound animal health solutions for the public good.
