Jim Reynolds, DVM, joins Praedium Ventures

Praedium Ventures LLC announces the hiring of Dr. Jim Reynolds as the new Vice President of Consulting. Dr. Reynolds is currently a Professor, Large Animal Medicine and Welfare, Western University, College of Veterinary Medicine, Pomona, CA.  Dr. Reynolds is well known in the dairy industry and academia for his work in farm animal welfare, calf management, production livestock medicine, mastitis control and sustainable agriculture.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Reynolds join the company,” said Earl Dotson, CEO.  “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in animal welfare and on-farm dairy production, and we look forward to his expertise in working with our dairy clients.”  Dotson stated Reynolds will be heading up the new Premier Dairy Solutions program for Praedium which includes an on-farm analysis of a farm’s animal handling and care practices, a review of standard operating procedures, animal caretaker training, crisis management and emergency action plan procedures and training, and a worker care program.

Dr. Reynolds has served as chair of both the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Bovine Practitioners’ Animal Welfare Committees, he is a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association Animal Welfare Committee, was a founding board member of Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization, and is a member of the scientific committee of the American Humane Association. He has worked throughout the US and internationally. He joins Praedium on January 4, 2016.
