On October 11, Julia Ridpath, PhD, presented Part 1 of a two-part series, “Bovine pestiviruses (BVDV1, BVDV2, and HoBi-like viruses)” on a webinar hosted by the American Association of Extension Veterinarians (AAEV).

Dr. Ridpath co-edited the book "BVDV: Diagnosis, Management, and Control", and she currently leads the research project "Intervention Strategies to Control Viral Diseases of Cattle" at the National Animal Disease Center (NADC) in Ames, Iowa. She welcomes the opportunity to share her knowledge, old and new, on BVDV with veterinarians engaged in outreach, teaching, and practice.

In the first webinar, Ridpath provided an overview of bovine pestiviruses -- their classification, diagnosis, and practical challenges. You can find the first webinar here.

On Nov. 8, Dr. Ridpath will conduct the second free webinar in the series at 12 p.m. (CST). Registration is not required. Find the webinar link on the AAEV website, or access the link directly on Nov. 8.

The mission of AAEV is enhancing animal, human, and food safety educational programs through professional development, cooperation, and nationwide communication.
