Named as a tribute to Bruce Wren, DVM, PhD, this annual award, sponsored by Agri Labs, provides $5,000 for professional-development training to one beef and one dairy practitioner who have graduated veterinary school in the last 10 years, so these practitioners may better serve their producer-clients.

This year’s dairy recipient is Dr. Jonathan Garber, of Seymour, Wis. Garber has been active in milk-safety efforts including the Food Armor program. He plans to use the grant to continue Spanish language studies to better communicate with dairy workers.

This year’s beef recipient is Dr. JD Folsom, of Rexburg, Idaho, who was recognized for his outstanding service to beef-producer clients.
