Guy Loneragan, BVSc, PhD, spoke today to staffers at the House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. at Beef 101, an educational session on the beef industry sponsored by NCBA.

Loneragan spoke to the staffers about antibiotic use and antibiotic resistance in the cattle industry, as well as the judicious use principles.

"The beef industry has done a tremendous job producing safe beef, but we can improve," Loneragan said.

Loneragan is also in Washington for the spring meeting of the Academy of Veterinary Consulants (AVC), which is reaching out to congressional representatives with information on beef cattle production.
