KDA publishes trichomoniasis regulation

The Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) Division of Animal Health has proposed new regulations regarding trichomoniasis (trich) for cattle. The proposed regulation addresses change-of-ownership of bulls within Kansas and import requirements for both bulls and females.

According to KDA, the proposed regulation clarifies current testing requirements for cattle, eliminates some outdated language in the existing regulation and sets out new testing requirements regarding trichomoniasis.

KDA published the proposed rules on July 4, 2013, and will allow a 60-day comment period, The agency will then hold a public hearing on September 4, 2013. Click here to read and comment on the new regulation.
