Brodersen named Nebraska veterinarian of the year

Bruce Brodersen, veterinarian, associate professor and diagnostic pathologist at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, has been named veterinarian of the year by the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association.


Organizations announce "Ruminant Well-being Award"

Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health and the World Association for Buiatrics (WAB) have signed a long-term cooperative agreement to foster research related to animal welfare in ruminants. The "Ruminant Well-being Award" will be presented at each WBC (World Buiatrics Congress) for at least the next six years. By doing so, the WAB and Boehringer Ingelheim intend to raise public awareness of the important role veterinarians play in continuous improvement of animal welfare in food-producing ruminants.


Beloved UF veterinary medical professor passes away

A longtime University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine faculty member who spent his career working to improve public health, the health of livestock and the lives of veterinary medical students through scholarship support passed away Sunday (Jan. 31) at the age of 83.

During last week’s Cattle Industry Convention in San Diego, NCBA and the Beef Checkoff recognized Pederson, who serves as her state’s BQA specialist at North Dakota State University, with the 2016 BQA educator of the year award.
