The 25th ADSA Discover Conference on Food Animal Agriculture, "New Developments in Immunity, Nutrition, and Management of the Preruminant Calf", will be held May 28-31 at the Eaglewood Resort and Spa, Itasca, Ill. (near O'Hare Int'l Airport). The conference is hosted by the American Dairy Science Association.
This conference will serve as a follow-up to the very successful 2008 Calf Conference and will examine new information available on issues pertaining to optimum development and management of the young dairy calf. It will comprise focused discussions in the major areas of passive transfer of immunity and immune development in the calf, colostrum management, colostrum replacers, feeding programs for the preruminant calf, probiotics, the relationship between nutrition and disease, animal welfare, and additional management practices which influence long term productivity.
Members of the research and academic community, leading consultants, Extension educators, industry leaders related to services and products for growing calves, and members of governmental and regulatory agencies are encouraged to participate in this interactive program. Graduate students and early career professionals are especially encouraged to attend.
Registration postmarked by April 28 is $375 for ADSA-ASAS-ARPAS members and $425 for non-members, which includes sessions and most meals. After April 28, the registration fee will be $475 member/$525 non-member, and will be accepted on an availability basis.
