Geni Wren The Academy of Veterinary Consultants (AVC) had a near record attendance at its summer meeting in Colorado Springs last week.
AVC leadership includes (L-R): President-elect Dave Sjeklocha, DVM; Immediate Past President Jerry Stokka, DVM; and President Tom Latta, DVM (not pictured, Vice President Larry Moczygemba, DVM).
More than 230 veterinarians and veterinary students interested in beef cattle medicine congregated at the meeting that discussed such timely issues as the effects of drought on cattle health, distiller's grains management, pain management, feedlot pathogens and more.
AVC's next meeting will be Dec. 1-3 in Denver, at which time plans will be finalized for its first-ever Spring meeting in Washington, D.C.
