Make sure to pre-register for the Oct. 18-24 United States Animal Health Association (USAHA) annual conference in Greensboro, N.C.

USAHA and the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD) return to North Carolina for some southern hospitality at the 116th USAHA/55th AAVLD Annual Meeting.

On tap for this meeting will be a wealth of AAVLD and USAHA committee meetings, scientific posters, exhibits and seminars. You can see proceeding’s from the 2011 meeting here.

The 2012 USAHA/AAVLD Joint Plenary Session, “Science, Economics and Politics - Oh My!” on Oct. 22 will feature an economic overview of animal agriculture, FMD and its potential impact, antibiotic use, the UEP/HSUS agreement and more.

About USAHA: is a forum for communication and coordination among State and Federal governments, universities, industry, and other concerned groups for consideration of issues of animal health and disease control, animal welfare, food safety and public health. It is a clearinghouse for new information and methods, which may be incorporated into laws, regulations, policy, and programs. It develops solutions of animal health-related issues based on science, new information and methods, public policy, risk/benefit analysis and the ability to develop a consensus for changing laws, regulations, policies, and programs.
