A game on the American Veterinary Medical Association website encourages middle-school children and educators to learn about veterinary medicine through the management of an animal hospital.
Participants start the game as a new veterinarian treating animals brought to the hospital. As the game advances, more dogs, cats, guinea pigs, birds and turtles arrive for treatment.
Participants can work their way up to become Chief Veterinarian of the AVMA Animal Hospital.
In addition to learning about time-management at a veterinary hospital. Participants use a variety of equipment to diagnose and treat each animal.
The game is intended to teach children in grades 4-8 about veterinary medicine. It was developed by Game Gurus and funded through a grant provided by the American Veterinary Medical Foundation.
