Jaguar Animal Health signs agreement with veterinary biotechnology company

Jaguar Animal Health, Inc. (“Jaguar”), an animal health company focused on developing and commercializing first-in-class gastrointestinal products for companion and production animals, announced today that it has entered into a supply and distribution agreement with Biogenesis Bagó, the largest veterinary biotechnology company in Latin America—a region that contains 370 million dairy and beef cattle and produces 11 percent of the world’s milk supply.

Garrison accepts gavel of OVMA President at annual conference

Dr. Brad Garrison of Wooster was recently elected President of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA). At the Association’s annual Midwest Veterinary Conference (MVC), outgoing President Dr. David Koncal passed on the gavel of the president to Dr. Garrison.

Government report estimates food sources for four pathogens

According to a new inter-agency report, foodborne pathogens in the United States cause about 9 million people to get sick, with 55,000 hospitalized, and an estimated 1,000 deaths, but a system for identifying which foods most often are responsible for illnesses associated with particular pathogens has been lacking. The report outlines a new method for tracking and reporting that information relating to the four most prevalent foodborne pathogens.
