A survey of 1,200 dog and cat owners by The Pert Group and Brakke Consulting found they visited their veterinarian nearly 20% less in 2011 than they did in 2007 – if they went at all.

In 2011, 77% of survey respondents said they took their dog or cat to the veterinarian, compared to 88% in 2007, when the study was first conducted.

Some food animal veterinarians have also seen the pinch, especially with last year’s drought and liquidation of cowherds. Others, however, have increased services and are seeing more business from their beef and/or dairy clients.

Bovine Veterinarian has a one-question poll asking if your bovine clients have increased, decreased or remained the same as far as their business with you in the last five years.

Please click on the poll and let us know. Thanks!
