The Academy of Veterinary Consultants (AVC) reminds its members that nominations for the AVC Outstanding Service Award, sponsored by Merck Animal Health, are due by March 1.
The award is presented to any current or past AVC member for outstanding contributions to the AVC over the past years. This award is given annually at the spring meeting, which will be held April 11-13 in Norman, Okla. To register for the meeting here.
Nominees can have made contributions toward the improvement of the AVC; acting as a resource person for the AVC or spokesperson on behalf of the AVC; involvement in activities in organized veterinary medicine and the beef cattle industry; contributions to the beef cattle industry; involvement in activities and achievements that have impacted the beef cattle industry, veterinary medicine, and the AVC.
Eligible nominees must be active or past members of the AVC who have provided outstanding service to the beef cattle industry or the AVC during the previous year. Special consideration may be given for those individuals who are not members of the AVC but who have provided outstanding contributions to the AVC over the past years.
The 2012 recipient (posthumously) was Hal Rinker, DVM.
