To help answer the question about future federal funding for cattle health research, we begin by examining past and current fiscal allocations from the USDA-Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and USDA-Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES) for cattle disease activities, says Peter
The current economic reality in the U.S. could be viewed as presenting even greater challenges to receive significant new funding. Yet, there are hopeful signs that USDA’s intramural and extramural programs may be successful in garnering additional dollars. Recognizing that much is in flux, reasons for maintaining an optimistic outlook as 2010 approaches will be described.
