Dr. Jodyne Green grew up on a cow calf ranch in Fisher Branch, Manitoba, Canada. After graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, she practiced for four years in a mixed animal practice. In 2010, Dr. Green started Green Mobile Veterinary Services, a mixed-animal ambulatory practice servicing Prince George, British Columbia.

What are some of the most satisfying aspects of your work as a veterinarian?
I love to drive down the road and watch the young calves run across the field tails straight up. I believe that our role as bovine veterinarians is to help our producers to be successful. Together we are producing the highest quality protein for the dinner plates of the world. When I enjoy a steak I am proud to know that I had a part in producing it.

If you could take urban consumers to visit a farm or ranch, what are the first things you would show them or tell them?
The first thing I would do is have them meet the producer. In hearing the producer tell their story about their farm, family and animals their is a passion and love for cattle that is conveyed. Farming / ranching is not a job, it is a way of life, and they love it. This love for their lifestyle comes through in their animals.
